Hawaii's Kilauea volcano erupts, shooting lava fountains up to 300 metres high

Kilauea is shooting lava fountains up to 300 metres high, and falling tephra is forcing temporary closures on Hawaii’s Big Island. The fountaining that began Tuesday morning marked the eruption's 43rd episode since it began in December 2024.
